In which areas are Cypress trees most successful?

  • Cypress tree grows self-sufficiently in sunlight, well-drained warm soil. Most of them are adapted to Mediterranean, temperate or subtropical climates although certain varieties may be adapted to colder climates. They are common in parks, big gardens and in driveways where their lanky stature produces a dramatic effect. Cypresses can also fit into other types of soils provided there is good drainage. Raised in the correct environment, they can establish themselves and be grown to maturity over numerous decades and become a permanent landscape element.
