Keeping Your List Responsive And Loyal Starts

Some records are better than others; compare an exchange of emails with notes alleged to have been taken during the meeting. What if the notes were made on a branded notepad with the logo of the serviced offices where the meeting took place? What if they were made on an iPad? These are all useful, to varying degrees. These days, saved text message streams can also be helpful. The best scenario is for the written record to be in one place, showing some form of acknowledgement from the other side.
Final Thoughts on Trust
When it comes to trust, in my experience, the problem with unwritten contracts rarely stems from dishonesty. I have heard someone saying words with no melody: ‘I never said that.’ Maybe you have too. In those instances, we might be able to find an more database email or text to remind them; at other times, we might not. However, for the most part, the flaws in informality stem from our humanness – not listening, forgetting and having our own points of view of what ‘should’ be done. It’s so much simpler to get it down in writing – and contracts and written records don’t destroy trust. Far from it. They enable you to have important conversations and, in doing so, to build and nurture your business relationships.
I’d love to know your thoughts and experiences – what makes or has made you hesitate, and what happened when you insisted on a little more formality?
You’ve probably already heard the statistic… The average person has to hear from you 7 times before they will buy whatever it is your offering, promoting or recommending. Why? Because they don’t know you from “Adam”… You need to spend the time to build a relationship with them so they grow to like and trust you.
The single best method for quickly and easily building a relationship with your newsletter subscribers is to provide them with helpful and valuable FREE INFORMATION. Yes – I’m talking about real content here… Content that your subscribers can actually learn from and use!
Let’s face it… You can’t just send your list promotion after promotion and sales pitch after sales pitch and expect them to remain on your list for long! How would you feel about someone whose sole purpose every single time they contact you is to try to sell you something? If you’re like most people you probably wouldn’t think too highly of that person for long.
You are building a list aren’t you? Hopefully you already are, however, if you’re not… YOU NEED to start, but don’t worry – if you’re new to the whole “list building” thing I’ll do my best to help get you going in the right direction. And even if you are already building your list, remember, it’s just as important to be building your relationship with your list!
This may come as a shock to you. But, guess what? A lot of the internet marketing “gurus” out there don’t spend their time writing the quality content they send out to their subscribers to keep them loyal and responsive… Sure, they may occasionally write a quick newsletter themselves – plus they’ll often write a sentence or two as a introduction to personalize.
